Next mission: Naples October 2026

Barely half a year after the last one and there's already another Naples mission on the schedule: five days, from Wednesday 7 to Sunday 11 October 2026, once again in the familiar apartment with Bruno on Corso Vittorio Emanuele. Below is the planned mission file — once the crew is back, this log will be filled in with the real footage.
Arrival, taking it easy
Taxi from the airport to Corso Vittorio Emanuele 544, arriving around 10:35, and the familiar check-in with Bruno — including the usual catch-up chat. Breakfast at Caffè Eclettico across the street, then a quiet afternoon wandering Via dei Tribunali and the side streets, shopping and a terrace stop at Piazza San Gaetano. A bite to eat at Tumasi later in the evening.
Pompeii
Entry tickets for Pompei Plus are already booked (13:00, via Vivaticket), so this day is all about being on time: bus 621 and Metro Line 1 to Napoli Garibaldi, then the Circumvesuviana toward Pompei Scavi – Villa dei Misteri. From the station it's only a hundred metres to the main entrance, Porta Marina. Only the ancient city itself is inside — once in, you can't get back out, so lunch happens at the bar/restaurant on the site itself. Back to Naples by late afternoon, and dinner in the evening at Tandem Ragù near Piazza del Gesù.
Museums & Lungomare
A museum day: first the Cappella Sansevero for the famous Cristo Velato (tickets already sorted, entry 10:30), then the Museo Archeologico Nazionale with the mosaics and frescoes that once came from Pompeii. Lunch at La Locanda Gesù Vecchio, a Michelin Bib Gourmand spot. In the afternoon, the Palazzo Reale on Piazza del Plebiscito, and at the end of the day a walk along the Lungomare for sunset — dinner there will be decided completely on the spot.
Rione Sanità
The more local Rione Sanità district is on the programme, reached via a detour with bus 621 and Metro Line 2 to Materdei because the Funicolare di Montesanto has been out of service for months. Along the way, the Sanfelice staircases at Palazzo dello Spagnolo and Palazzo San Felice, and the Basilica Santa Maria della Sanità with the catacombs beneath it. At 12:15, the Cimitero delle Fontanelle awaits — the ossuary with around 45,000 skulls, tickets with audio guide already booked, mandatory check-in by 12:00 at the latest. Afterwards, coffee with a fiocco di neve at Pasticceria Poppella, and lunch at the Michelin-listed Da Concettina ai Tre Santi.
Vomero & Chiaia, return journey
Last day: first up to Vomero on the Funicolare Centrale for Villa Floridiana and Via Scarlatti, then down to Chiaia for the Villa Comunale — home to Italy's oldest aquarium — and a hearty lunch that doubles as dinner. The last few hours go toward an aperitivo in the bars along Via Bisignano, before picking up the luggage at Bruno's and heading to the airport for the return flight.
